They would take them to a bunch of game shops, like the Complete Strategist in NYC and others to market them to the store owners themselves. That is how a lot of those figurines were sold back then. Plushies, I would probably not purchase, but 25mm metal cast figures, definitely.īack in the early-mid 70s when I was playing D&D with my friends (yes, I'm that old, I did play later, but that time period is what is relevant), many of the figures that were available were cast by guys who did it in their garage, had someone make them labels and packed them in bags themselves.
